Taunton Bus Day 2014 Journey to Bishops Lydeard on 1945 Bus
One of the free rides available on Taunton Bus Day, 11th May2014. The bus is a double decker Daimler built under strict wartime utility standards for Huddersfield Joint Omnibus Company.It later saw service around Nottingham. Currently it is in London Transport colours. Similar buses were used from LT's Merton Garage. I rode on this type of bus on East Kent route around 1950 between Whitstable and Canterbury. The route on video starts along North Street into Bridge Street then Station Road and we call at main line station. We then proceed along Greenway Road, A358 and continue on that road to Bishops Lydeard Station.
