Liberia's Biggest Road Project Nears Completion | RIA Highway Update
The Government of Liberia is making significant progress on the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway Project, one of the country's largest road infrastructure developments. The project, which is converting the Monrovia-to-Roberts International Airport highway into a modern four-lane dual carriageway, is expected to improve transportation, enhance road safety, and reduce travel time for thousands of commuters and visitors. The upgraded highway features new pavement, improved drainage systems, bridges, sidewalks, and other modern road facilities designed to support Liberia's growing transportation needs. The RIA Highway serves as the country's main gateway to the international airport, making it a critical route for business, tourism, trade, and investment. Although the project has experienced delays and has been the subject of legislative and public scrutiny, construction work continues as the government seeks to bring the project to completion. Meanwhile, Residents and motorists have expressed optimism that the completed highway will ease traffic congestion, improve access to Roberts International Airport, and contribute to Liberia's long-term economic development.
