On September 8th and 9th, 2011, the Quiksilver Pro New York surprised the surf world by scoring epic surf in Long Beach. One non-local wasn't surprised: Surfline's Sean Collins. He had been commissioned by Quiksilver the previous year to research the viability of good surf here.
