2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 | POV Test Drive & Review

2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series POV Test Drive & Review! When Mercedes showed the world the current, R232 generation SL, they tried to make it more performance oriented, and less luxurious. It came out only as AMG model - SL 43, SL 55, and SL 63. But let’s be real - nobody who buys the SL expects performance of a Porsche 911, and clients demanded a true luxury variant. So Mercedes, or Maybach delivered. To create the SL 680, Maybach engineers took the SL 63 AMG, and Maybached it to the max. Softer, more compliant suspension, extra sound deadening and revised powertrain calibration. We also can’t forget about all extra chrome and… questionable Maybach logos everywhere. The Maybach SL680 sits on the MSA platform, using a 5-link suspension front and rear, combined with Active Ride Control suspension - adaptive dampers and active roll stabilization. We still have a 4.0L biturbo V8, which makes 577 hp, 590 lb-ft of torque. The power goes down via a 9-speed multi clutch transmission to all 4 wheels. Other cars to consider are a Bentley Continental GTC, Aston Martin DB12 Volante, Maserati GranCabrio, or a Porsche 911. 00:00 - Launch 00:07 - Exterior & Technical Information 02:35 - Engine 03:30 - Interior 07:20 - Trunk 07:45 - Exterior 08:20 - Drive Modes 09:00 - Driving Impressions 15:53 - Backroad Driving (No Talking) Specs: Engine: 4.0L twin-turbo V8 | 577 hp | 590 lb-ft of torque Transmission: 9-speed multi clutch | AWD Color: MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Surf Blue Non-Metallic Price as tested: $243,950 #mercedes #maybach #mercedessl #pov #review #cars Follow me on Instagram and TikTok @tom.swiatek
