Building a Rope Hammock in the Woods. Bushcraft

Hello! My name is Osman. In order to spend the night in the wood, I will knit a hammock. To do this, I have 100 meters of the most ordinary rope. For convenience, I cut it in half. In autumn, spring, and even summer, on rainy days, the forest is wet, so a hammock is a very convenient way to spend the night. First I need to find four strong trees at a convenient distance to weave a rectangular hammock. I fix the rope with the "two half-hitches" knot, then start knitting an "alpine butterfly bend" knot. The peculiarity of this node is the uniform distribution of the load, so this node suits me. I knit the "butterfly" knots quite often, because it is worth considering the stretching of the rope under load. It's necessary to make nodes around the perimeter. It is important that the rope is well stretched. Having tied the rope around each tree, I fix it again with a "two half-hitches" knot. I begin to pull parallel lines, passing the rope through the loops of knots. I lead the rope perpendicular and make a turn around each parallel rope, so that the ropes do not spread out under my weight later. It is necessary to make sure that the rope is well stretched. The roof is clearly needed. The tree crowns protect only from light rain. I fix the rope with the "two half-hitches" knot. It is also necessary to fix the rope around the entire perimeter. Here the rope tension is especially important. So I use the tension method with a stick. The base of the roof I make from long branches, which I fasten to the ropes with twigs or small notches. The first layer I will lay out fir branches. It is important to make sure that the branches are minimally hanging down through the base of the roof, as in the case of heavy rain, drops will flow down the branches. A layer of spruce branches is not enough. So I decided to solve the problem with the help of moss, which will be laid in a second layer. You can also cover the roof with turf, but the turf is too heavy for this rope structure. My Instagram   / osmandelibash
