Fische fangen + Aquarium einrichten - Lebendgebärende Fische für das 1000 Liter Aquarium kostenlos!

In this video, I'll show you where you can find free livebearing toothcarps for your aquarium and how to catch them. These small fish are called Gambus, also known as pygmy killifish, Texas killifish, or silver killifish. I'll also explain some things about these fish, and of course, we'll catch a few for our aquarium. You'll also see how to transport small fish safely and effectively. The video will then show you how we set up an aquarium—in this case, for the Gambus we caught in Italy. Of course, you can set up the aquarium this way for other fish species as well. There are also some tips and tricks for setting up an aquarium. Gambusia originally come from southern North America, but over 100 years ago, like some other fish species at the time, they were introduced to numerous other regions worldwide, including southern Europe and Italy, where we were this summer and went fishing. Gambus can eat large quantities of insect larvae, reportedly up to their own body weight per day, and were therefore used to combat malaria. This probably didn't work quite as planned, and now these fish are found in large numbers wherever it doesn't get too cold in winter. While Gambus feel comfortable in the Mediterranean region even in winter (they tolerate water temperatures from around 4 degrees Celsius to well over 30 degrees Celsius), they are not actually frost-hardy. Therefore, they are only suitable as fish for garden ponds in spring, summer, and autumn! Gambusia are freshwater fish, but they also tolerate brackish water, and their requirements for water quality and oxygen levels are rather low. Females grow up to 7 cm long, while males usually remain smaller than 4 cm. Gambus are also perfect aquarium fish for beginners! In terms of color, they are somewhat less conspicuous than their close relatives, such as guppies or other livebearing toothcarps like platies, swordtails, and mollies, all of which belong to the genus Poeciliidae. Livebearing means that these fish don't lay eggs; instead, the eggs develop inside the mother and burst open when the young hatch. The fry are free-swimming at birth and can feed immediately. Gambusia are predominantly gray to brown in color, with slightly bluish sides, and some specimens also have small black spots. They are said to be able to adjust their coloration to their surroundings. The fish have relatively large scales, and their small mouths are upturned, reflecting their diet of feeding primarily on insect larvae at the water's surface. By the way, besides gambusia, other animal species can also be seen in this video. This means that trade, keeping, breeding, and transport of these species will be prohibited in the EU in the future, regardless of the fact that millions of these fish will continue to swim around in Southern Europe, and that removing them from the wild makes a small contribution to preventing this invasive fish species from spreading even further.
