Allenbanks & Staward Gorge is a National Trust site just off the A69 in Northumberland, between Haydon Bridge and Bardon Mill. There are several waymarked paths to choose from depending on distance, time and difficulty. We chose the path to Plankey Mill, which was a place I visited many times as a child with my family.
