1983 Ford Ranger Diesel
Here is an in depth video of my 1983 Ford Ranger Diesel. Out of all 1983 Rangers produced only 1% had the diesel engine. This was also the first year Ford Motor Company started using diesel engines in their F-series pickup trucks along with the rangers. The diesel engine in my ranger is a perkins built unit offered by mazda which was in cahoots with Ford in the 1983 model year. F-series pickups got the international built diesel engines. The perkins unit was offered with the new 83 ranger in both 83 and 84 before Ford went with a Mitsubishi turbo diesel for 85-88 models.
