I set out to prove that a desktop laser cutter can make more than coasters and keychains — it can make real furniture. Using the brand-new xTool P3 80W CO2 laser cutter, I designed and built a full-size Danish modern chair entirely from plywood, without touching a table saw or router. In this video I show how to handle joinery with layered construction, cut half-inch Baltic birch in a single pass, and use the P3’s pass-through system for oversized panels. Along the way I highlight features like built-in cameras, LiDAR auto-focusing, industrial water cooling, and advanced safety systems. If you’re interested in laser cutting, CNC woodworking, DIY furniture builds, or modern chair design, this project shows just how far desktop lasers have come. ★ ALL THE LINKS ★ Books, Plans & Merch: https://makesomething.com Making It Podcast: http://makingitpodcast.com My Music: https://bit.ly/4i4J6wB
