❄️ On December 26th, we wake up in Yaroslavl and continue our winter road trip to Veliky Ustyug, the birthplace of Father Frost. 🎅✨ We'll start with the promised overview of an apartment in central Yaroslavl 🏙️: the layout, a modern kitchen with an island and sink 🍳, high ceilings and chandeliers ✨, a bedroom with separate closets 👕, air conditioning in the rooms ❄️, and the most unusual part—a sunken bathroom with a "starry sky" on the ceiling 🌌 and a large water heater 🚿. We're honestly sharing our impressions: the apartment is warm, cozy, and the location is superb—we walked around the center yesterday 👣 Next comes the real road 🚗💨: we clear the snow from the car (the construction workers next door helped us out with the brush 🙌), and stop at the shopping center for winter shoes 👢, because our feet get soaked in the wet snow. This is where the parking quest begins 🅿️: many spots are occupied by snow, many are for disabled people, payment is by license plate number, and the entrance to the shopping center isn't "direct"—we have to go around and look for it 🧭😅. We show the payment details: via the website/QR code and app 📲 At the food court, we have a "breakfast and lunch" 🍲: pelmeni, borscht, Olivier salad, compote—2261 ₽ ✅. We grab two pairs of men's winter boots (we don't reveal the full price in the video, but the purchase is a fact) 👞👞 and set off on a long drive. The GPS shows: 707 km and 9 hours 9 minutes to our accommodation in Veliky Ustyug 🗺️⏱️. The weather initially says around +1°C 🌡️, then by evening it's real winter ❄️ On the road, everything is as it is: dirty windows, the highway, stops, and we "turn on" where there's something really special 🎥. We buy consumables: two bottles of antifreeze for 180 rubles each (a total of 360 rubles) 🧴✅. In the forest, we spot a moose 🦌: at first it ran away, then it saw the cars and ran! We check the prices at gas stations ⛽️: 95 gasoline — 63.89 ₽, 92 gasoline — 59.99 ₽, diesel — 72.89 ₽; we compare it to the Moscow Ring Road, where 95 gasoline was 70.05 ₽. We stop at Lukoil and buy 95 EKTO at 67.28 ₽/liter 🔥 An important reality of winter roads: the connection is almost lost in places 📵 — we pay cash at cafes 💵. Then the route is rescheduled: about 500 km and 6 hours 27 minutes remain. We drive through the outskirts of Vologda (we take the bypass — the direct route adds +24 minutes) 🚙. Fuel consumption is around 8.5 l/100 km ⛽️ And another important fact: a warning about a cow/calf complex 🐄, then we actually see calves on the road – a car in a ditch nearby and a truck helping to pull them out ⚠️ The turnoff to Veliky Ustyug – and the final sprints 🛣️: the announcement says 377 km "from the turnoff," then "another 141 km to Ustyug." On the approach, there's a bridge decorated with snowflakes ❄️, a city sign 🏁, and the fact: Veliky Ustyug has a population of approximately 31,000 👥 We arrive late – around 10:53 PM 🕙: one Magnit store is already closed. Snow-covered streets, an illuminated "magic forest" with lights and a Christmas tree 🎄🌈. Day summary: 8 hours 38 minutes of pure driving, starting around 1:00 PM and arriving around 11:10 PM—a total of about 10 hours. Average fuel consumption 8.2 l/100 km, average speed 76 km/h, temperature around -8°C 🌡️❄️ Finally, a quick first look at the apartment in Veliky Ustyug 🏠: the rooms, the "secret" door, the balcony (we're on the first floor), the Christmas tree, and gifts from the owners—juice and Choco Pie 🎁🥤🍫.
