We receive many questions about this issue, and some have even experienced it firsthand. Over the years, we've gained experience, which we'd like to share in this video. To substantiate our claims, we're disassembling TWO engines from a 2016 KIA Rio and a 2014 Hyundai Solaris. Both cars have the same owner and have odometer readings of approximately 50,000 km. The engines are similar—a 1.6-liter G4FC and a 1.4-liter G4FA, both from the GAMMA family. After removing the catalytic converters, the engines began consuming large amounts of oil. We decided to disassemble them and determine the cause of the excessive oil consumption. Are these reasons related to the removal of the catalytic converter, or are they just a coincidence? The video also examines the manufacturer's recommended engine oil viscosity chart, which is quite interesting given the criticism coming from those who prefer thin oils.
