It is with sadness and relief that we announce the closure of Hello Brooklyn. We have been making our wonderful donuts since 2011, and we are very proud of how far we have come. When we started 12 years ago, there were only two shops in France making homemade, fresh donuts daily. And for the last ten years, we were the oldest. In 2023, we saw donut shops popping up all over France, so it might seem strange to leave the game just when the donut is finally gaining popularity (note the pun). Unfortunately, since January, we have been facing (too) many problems that prevent us from continuing: Increased fixed costs and the price of raw materials Numerous supply problems Recruitment difficulties Decreased revenue Our guiding principle has always been to offer you homemade products, fresh daily, made according to our own recipe, and at an affordable price. This guideline therefore required us to have a production lab with an extraction hood, in addition to our shop. We could have done what many others do and offered you defrosted donuts with just a freshly made glaze. The advantage would be not needing an extraction system, thus lower (or less expensive) rent, and requiring less work and therefore fewer staff. But that's not our philosophy: we want to offer you the best, or nothing at all. For the past few months, our other activities within the shop have been "sponsoring" the donut production: American sports merchandising and American groceries. After 12 years, and despite our love for donuts, it's time for us to focus on the sectors where we're growing and for which we have just as much passion. We would like to thank our loyal customers, some of whom have been with us since 2011 on Rue Romarin, and everyone we've worked with since the beginning. The adventure continues with the same passion at our Brooklyn Fizz shop. We'll always be happy to welcome you and reminisce about the good old days, when you could find the wonderful Hello Brooklyn donuts here!
