Located in the middle of a red earth desert, the great rock of Uluru towers 350 meters high and dominates the plain. For the Aboriginal people, it is a sacred place, a bearer of memory and legends. Ceremonies have been practiced there for over 10,000 years. Even today, a small community of 300 people continues to hold discreet ceremonies around the rock.
