Hello everyone! We're back with the exciting third episode of our round-the-world voyage, which began on July 1st from Gökova Ören Marina with Derya! In this episode, we bid farewell to the beautiful waters of Lipsi and turn the helm of the Grand Admiral towards Levitha, our secluded and peaceful sanctuary in the middle of the Aegean, inhabited by only one family. After a tranquil night on Levitha, we set sail for Amorgos, the heart of the endless blue with its steep cliffs, and the island of Ios, with its golden sandy beaches and seemingly endless energy. But this episode isn't just about island visits! During our voyage, we face the realities of life on board, sharing nautical and technical knowledge with you. We get our hands a little dirty repairing our broken windlass anchor chain counter ourselves, and we demonstrate the vital "collision course detection" technique for navigational safety on your screens. We also examine in detail what katabatic winds are and their effects during sailing, which are very important for those sailing in the Aegean Sea. In the next episode, we will leave Ios and explore the islands of Folegandros, Poliegos, and Kimolos, then fill our sails towards the Saronic Gulf.
