Monte Christo Sandwich (Disney and Bennigan's copycat)

In Today’s video, I am going to be showing you how to make my version of the Bennigan’s Monte Christo sandwich. I am only making one sandwich in the video today, the full recipe makes 3 sandwiches. Today’s recipe ingredients: INGREDIENTS 9 Slices Wheat Bread 9 Slices deli turkey slices 9 Slices deli ham slices 6 American cheese slices 6 Swiss cheese slices 2 eggs 1 1/4 cups water 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder vegetable oil for frying INSTRUCTIONS Place turkey and Swiss cheese on one slice of bread and ham and cheddar cheese on another slice of bread. Place third slice in-between and wrap in plastic wrap. Press down on sandwich to flatten slightly. Refrigerate one hour. Slice the triple-decker sandwich diagonally and secure in the corners with toothpicks. Place egg in mixing bowl, add water and beat together. Add salt, sugar, flour, and baking powder. Beat batter until smooth. Dip sandwich in batter and carefully cover all the sides and surface. Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden. When sandwich has turned a warm golden color remove from hot oil and place on paper towel. Let cool for a few minutes before removing the toothpicks. Before serving slice each wedge in half and sprinkle with powder sugar. Serve with raspberry preserves.
