Speak from a place of Love

In order to understand abuse, we need to start an honest conversation with the abused, not the abuser. Regardless of the type of abuse - domestic abuse, racism, xenophobia etc - the conversation needs to start from the abused, not the abuser. We all need to find a place of love and vulnerability in the depth of our humanity and speak to each other from that depth. If we sincerely want to understand each other and to grow as human beings, we need to learn to go deeper than the surface words and ideas of our own cultural 'choirs' and engage with new, different voices, because these voices are part of our One Humanity. Fr Seraphim, from the Orthodox Monastery of All Celtic Saints on the Isle of Mull in Scotland, talks about the need to try to understand the experience of our brothers and sisters who experience any type of abuse in order to heal the brokenness of our Humanity. --- Support the Monastery (PayPal & Credit / debit Cards): https://mullmonastery.com/donate/ USA Friends can also support the Monastery by cheques made to 'American Friends of the Celtic Saints' - a 501 (c) (3) organisation - and sent to 3736 W County Rd 4, Berthoud, CO 80513.
