Castlevania Remnants of Darkness: Devil Forging & Boss Fight
Development of the first stage of Castlevania: Remnants of Darkness is almost complete! (Around 95%) Castlevania: Remnants of Darkness is a fangame I am developing, combining elements of Curse of Darkness, Symphony of the Night and Lament of Innocence, to form a 2D metroidvania. It follows the events of Curse of Darkness and it is a fan sequel. I will release a demo in about 2 weeks for anyone who's interested in trying it, playable on both PC and Android. This gameplay footage shows: A new weapon, Bullova, which is a greataxe type weapon. It's slow but has wide range and deals good damage. The animation can be backdash cancelled for faster attack speed; New enemies, with red spark attacks, which cannot be blocked normally; Innocent Devils, which fight on your side and have a Heart meter as their own energy, just like in Curse of Darkness. A boss fight, not too challenging but not too easy either. The good amount of difficulty for a first stage boss. New skills such as Perfect Guarding. Quick FAQ: Q: How much will I have to pay for playing the game? A: This project is free, this game is free as it is meant to be a love letter to Castlevania CoD fans, no monetization is applied in any form or shape. This will also be open source in the future. Q: Is Konami okay with this? A: Yes! Konami's copyright rules say that fan content is fine unless it is used to monetize, and I'm not doing it with this project. I have also sent an email if I could keep working on this and have received confirmation that I can. Q: When will this be released? A: It's about 15% complete so I don't know.
