In collaboration with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, RTBF Musiq3 presents a series of public masterclasses, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the exchanges between guest masters and young artists in residence. In this episode, baritone Thomas Hampson shares his knowledge and experience. 🎶 A leading figure in opera, Thomas Hampson has enjoyed an impressive international career for several decades. Born in 1955 in Indiana, he has performed more than 80 operatic roles and recorded nearly 170 albums, earning numerous awards, including Grammy Awards. 🎤 But beyond the stage, Thomas Hampson is also committed to teaching. Through his public masterclasses, he champions a demanding yet accessible vision of singing: a space where artists can experiment in front of an audience, and where spectators can experience the artistic process firsthand. 📚 Passionate about Lieder, he also explores the history of the works, the poets, and the contexts in which they were created.
