Europe June 22 - Part 10 - Milos Part 2 (on Polco Sailing)

THIS WAS THE BEST DAY OF OUR ENTIRE 3 WEEK LONG TRIP TO EUROPE. We left our Airbnb and drove to the town of Paleachori on the southeastern coast of Milos, because this was the new location of the start of our day cruise with Polco Sailing. When we booked the cruise a few months earlier, we were supposed to start and end the tour in Adamas and sail around the entire island. However the winds from the north were still extremely strong, and they changed it up, having us start and end on the south side of the island. We did get some refund back because we weren't able to make all of the original stops, however it didn't matter because this ended up being the best day of our entire trip. Our captain, Aggelos, and first mate, Maro, were both incredible and made what would have been a great day at sea that much better. I can't say enough about both of them and how great they were. The name of our catameran was "Dani" and if I ever make it back to Milos (hopefully), I will request Captain Aggelos again! Our cruise only had 10 guests, plus the two if them. All of the other passengers were very nice, but we especially enjoyed meeting Felipe and Rubya from Brazil and Sam and Cassie from Australia. I thought it was amazing, that with only 10 guests on the Dani, we represented four continents (Europe, Australia, South America, and North America). We made several stops, but by far the best was Kleftiko. Captain Aggelos took us on the small boat through all of the caves in this most amazing location! Pirates used to hide in these caves long ago, and they were so amazing to explore and listen to his stories. We loved this day and didn't want it to come to an end. One day I will make it back to Milos and do this again! But for us, it was the perfect way to end our time on this amazing island. The next day we would get up and take the ferry to our next destination, Santorini! *** If you have a trip planned to Milos, and HIGHLY recommend Polco Sailing.
