Disconnect To Reconnect - Short Documentary Film

This film is a reflection of where I am in life—a place where I feel both present and stuck. For a long time, I felt trapped in the cycle of shooting and editing weddings only . While I am grateful for the opportunities that wedding filmmaking has given me, I have always known that it is not the destination I want to spend my life pursuing. My true ambition has always been to become a solo documentary filmmaker—a storyteller who travels, observes, and captures real human experiences. This film represents the joy I rediscovered after creating something completely different from weddings. It reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place. I have always dreamed of traveling and making films about the people, places, and stories I encounter. But because of certain circumstances, I haven't been able to pursue that path. For me, the idea of disconnecting wasn't about escaping life—it was about finding a place where I could step away from the noise and honestly reflect on where I was headed. That search led me back to my village and eventually to Upper Mustang. Those journeys reminded me how deeply I love this craft. They made me realize that if I truly want to become the filmmaker I aspire to be, I have to commit myself fully, work relentlessly, and pursue documentary filmmaking with everything I have. This film serves as a reminder of my passion for filmmaking and my genuine love for documentary storytelling. It marks the moment I stopped questioning the direction I wanted to take. I know the path I want to follow now, and all I want is to dedicate myself to it, grow through it, and become the best storyteller I can be. How it was shoot !
