Reflections on the Porto Proclamation | Shaping the Future of Sexual Health, Rights, and Justice

On 16 October 2025, the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) hosted a global webinar, Reflections on the Porto Proclamation on Sexual Health, Rights, and Justice, bringing together leaders from across regions to discuss how this landmark declaration can guide collective action through 2030. The Porto Proclamation, adopted at the inaugural World Sexual Health Assembly (WSHA) in Porto, Portugal, affirms that sexual health is integral to health, sexual rights are human rights, and sexual justice is essential for dignity and equality. Moderated by WAS President Faysal El Kak and Immediate Past President Elna Rudolph, this 90-minute conversation explored how the Proclamation’s principles can shape global policy, practice, research, and advocacy.
