Most Zero Turn Mowers Have This Transmission Problem - How To Make Sealed Hydros Serviceable!

Most zero turn mowers in the low end to mid range market have a major transmission design problem that almost nobody talks about Many of them use sealed Hydro Gear EZT or similar integrated hydrostatic transaxles that are labeled or treated like they are non serviceable, even though the oil inside them still wears out and breaks down over time. That makes no sense if you want your zero turn mower to last These transaxles do not make regular oil changes practical, even though clean oil is critical to long life and proper performance I show how to modify these sealed hydros serviceable so future maintenance is actually easy We go over where the top fill plug is located, how to create access to it on mowers that do not already have an opening, how to drain the old hydro oil, and how to carefully drill and tap the housing in a specific location so a real drain plug can be added for easy future hydro oil changes I also show how to flush the unit properly, remove the remaining oil and aluminum debris, seal the new drain plug so it will not leak, refill the transmission with genuine Hydro Gear transaxle oil, and purge the system the right way.
