Tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have increased again in recent days. First, the license plate crisis and the subsequent resignation of Serbs working in Kosovo institutions, including mayors in regions where the Serb population is densely populated, took the tension to a different dimension. When Kosovo authorities wanted to hold early elections after the resignation of Serbian mayors, tension in the northern region of the country reached its peak. While barricades were placed on the roads by the Serbs in this region located on Kosovo's border with Serbia, the crisis deepened further with mutual harsh statements. While Serbia instructed its soldiers and police to "be ready", there are concerns that tension and possible conflicts will spread to the entire region.
