Force Ten Gale
On September 29, after eight months and 14,000 miles at sea crossing the Pacific Ocean, Argo encountered at Force Ten Gale 45 miles off the coast of New Zealand. Winds exceeded 60 knots, and were sustained over 50 knots for more than 3 hours. Waves ranged between 25 and 30 feet. 13 hours after encountering the storm Argo made safe harbor at the Great Barrier Island. Argo is a Nordhavn 68. She handled the seas beautifully and could have taken more...but we'd prefer not to! Robert Tisch/Captain
