What is SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER (And can MANUAL THERAPY help?)

Have you ever wondered, "What is Sensory Processing Disorder?" Or perhaps are you concerned that your child might have this? It's actually not that uncommon, and if you happen to have a bub that was born a little early, then its even more likely to develop. See, we have a set of senses in our body that are there to help us negotiate the world around us. Sensory Processing Disorder is when we have a hard time INTERPRETING (see, I remembered the right word this time - unlike in the video!) those sensory inputs. And this misinterpretation can go in many ways - we can be over-reactive or under-reactive, sensory seeking or even have difficulty in discriminating different inputs. In this video, I have a quick chat about what is sensory processing disorder, as well as a couple of examples of different subtypes, a couple of suggestions of how it could come about, and one method of treatment that may be useful in conjunction with other therapies. Hope you enjoy the video! If you have any questions or would like to know more - just shoot me a message or leave a comment! REFERENCES: Lickliter R.
