¡Maestros soltaron "plomazos"! Detienen a 15 miembros de la CNTE tras enfrentamientos en Oaxaca

The teachers' crisis in Oaxaca escalated to one of its most tense moments after a violent clash between members of the CNTE (National Coordinator of Education Workers) and residents of Villa de Mitla. During the protests and road blockades, gunfire was reported, scenes of chaos unfolded, and at least 15 teachers from Section 22 were detained. They were later released in the community of Unión Zapata. Videos circulating on social media show moments of extreme tension, including armed individuals and police present amidst the unrest. Following the events, teachers reported being chased, beaten, and assaulted during the confrontation. Several vehicles were damaged, and a group of teachers later set fire to a semi-trailer truck in protest. The Oaxaca State Attorney General's Office confirmed it has opened an investigation to determine who fired the shots during the clashes, while the CNTE blamed the state government, the federal government, and the mayor of Mitla for the violence in the area.
