Turtle Wax ICE Spray Wax & ICE Spray Detailer 2015 - Review

This is a review and water test for the new 2015 Turtle Wax ICE Spray Wax and ICE Spray Detailer. All previous products were removed using Meguiar's M205 finishing polish followed by an IPA wipedown, so this is what it looks like when these products are applied to bare paint with no base layer wax or sealant underneath of them. The word from one of the reps at Turtle Wax states that these products have been reformulated compared to their previous versions to incorporate their new Smart Shield Technology for 2015. You can use both them as a wax booster or maintenance product in between washes to help maintain the life of the bottom layer wax or sealant. You can use the ICE Spray Wax by itself with no base layer underneath which will leave more durable protection compared to the ICE Detailer. Both can be used as a drying aid to help dry the car faster when it's wet. ICE Detailer can be used to safely wipe down lightly dusty or soiled paint to prevent scratches as long as you use the correct technique with a microfiber towel, it has more lubrication to help encapsulate the dirt or dust so you're not grinding it against the paint while you remove it. The ICE Spray Wax should not be used for that purpose. Both of them will leave a great finish on the car, I did not notice any streaking or smearing when I pulled the car out in the sun. The directions on ICE Spray Detailer mention that you can use it in full sunlight, but I did not notice any mention of that with the ICE Spray Wax. They both smell great as well, they seem to smell exactly the same and I'm a fan of scented products. They are very easy to use as well, just spray over the panel and wipe with a microfiber, turn the microfiber over for a final buff and you'll end up with a very smooth finish. Both products have 20 fl. ounces in the bottle, they were priced at just under $6.50 per product, and I think they are very competitive against other over-the-counter spray waxes and spray detailers. I plan to put Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax up against the ICE Spray Wax to get a closer comparison. Then I will test how those two behave when they have a base layer wax underneath of them.
