Linear CCD for under $30! TCD1304
Here is a demonstration of the TCD1304 running with clock pulses from an STM32-F401RE microcontroller. You can buy the TCD1304 on Ebay for about $10 and the microcontroller from Digikey for about $13. The driving circuit is built on a solderless breadboard. Much thanks for Esben Rossel (https://tcd1304.wordpress.com/) for providing the firmware for the microcontroller, the windows application, and designing the PCBs! I couldn't have done it without all his hard work and the documentation on his website. Here is his downloads page where you can download the GUI and firmware. https://tcd1304.wordpress.com/downloads/
