Ney Rosauro | Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra No. 1 (piano red.)
0:24 Greetings 4:20 Lament 10:47 Dance 15:01 Farewell How this project came about: The marimba and the piano employ, although in very different ways, the "Technique of Percussion". The marimba being played with four mallets on the sounding boards whereas the piano uses eighty-eight "hammers" on the strings. Both instruments have a very wide range and remarkable dynamic. Their tonal variations give them ideal prerequisites for expressive musical interpretations. I enjoy playing them both. As it happens ever since my youth, I have also been fascinated by the technique of recording engineering. So asked myself how could I combine these three passions in one project. When I discovered the "Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra" (with a piano reduction) by Ney Rosauro, the following enterprise occurred to me as an interesting challenge: A studio production in which I play and record both instruments, then edit the audio and video. The result is the recording you have in front of you. I hope you enjoy it!
