VPNs are Actually Useless for Privacy

I’ve been using VPNs for a long time now, I use proton mail for privacy, and iPhones for better data security. So imagine my shock and horror to realise that all of that has been a waste of time. I’ve had multiple scenario where I’ve thought about something. Didn’t even say it out loud or tell anyone about it. You open your phone, and boom, there’s an ad for it. Can’t be only me. And for a while I’ve been extremely puzzled as to why this keeps happening.
