Adrien Broner (USA) VS. Jovanie Santiago (PUERTO RICO) | 4K FULL HIGHLIGHTS #boxing #sports

🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION: “The Problem” Broner started slow but eventually found his rhythm, scoring a unanimous 12-round decision win over previously unbeaten Jovanie Santiago on Saturday night in the main event of PBC on SHOWTIME, live from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. It wasn’t exactly the spectacular comeback Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) had hoped for after a 25-month layoff, but he’ll gladly take the victory. “Once that bell rang, forget the rhythm — it’s life or death,” Broner said. “He was waiting to counter me, so I had to work behind the jab to open him up. When it went to the scorecards, I knew I had it. Even after two years out, I felt good. I’m ready to get back in the gym. They can keep bringing me these lions.” Judges Tom Carusone (116-111), Glenn Feldman (115-112), and Peter Hary (117-110) all scored the fight comfortably for Broner. Broner said nothing Santiago (14-1-1, 10 KOs) did caught him off guard. Early on, Santiago worked the body well and trapped Broner against the ropes, while Broner threw few punches but kept a sharp jab going. In the later rounds, Broner took control, flashing glimpses of his old championship form with sharp uppercuts to the body. A left hook appeared to drop Santiago, but referee Arthur Mercante Jr. ruled it a slip. “I want two, maybe three more fights before the year ends,” Broner said. “The only way I stay out of trouble is by staying in the gym. As long as I focus on boxing, I’m good. My love for this sport never left — I fell in love with boxing before I ever fell in love with a girl.
