I am using only water mist to keep my paint moist in my palette. No retarder or any kind of medium is used in the entire process. Started with a color mixing for the background with Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Crimson lake and White. Then I have shifted the colors to desired saturation and values for other parts of the face.
