Caminho da Fé a Pé - Dia 11 de 11 (Aparecida-SP)

In this video, you'll join us on Brazil's most famous route, the Caminho da Fé (Way of Faith). We, Rodrigo and Roberta, walked for 11 days through northern São Paulo state and southern Minas Gerais, covering approximately 320km, starting in the municipality of Águas da Prata-SP and arriving in Aparecida-SP. We've reached the 11th and final day of our journey. We left Chalé Gomeral in the rural area of Guaratinguetá-SP heading towards Aparecida-SP. We started on a dirt road. We passed a small waterfall very close to the inn. We watched the sunrise over the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range! The weather was clear, without clouds. The beginning of this stretch was very beautiful! We took a section of cobblestone road. At the beginning, it was well-shaded. We entered an asphalt road. We passed a beautiful stream! The Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range was left behind. The sun was very strong! We stopped at the Pousada e Restaurante Sabor Caipira to have some açaí. The hills ended, but the sun was beating down. We found another rest stop and ordered a cold soda and some snacks. We saw the 12km and then 8km signs. With approximately 7km to go, we could see the imposing Basilica in the distance. We crossed the city of Potim-SP. We stopped to rest at the Senhor Bom Jesus Parish Church. We crossed the bridge over the Paraíba do Sul River that divides the municipalities of Potim and Aparecida. We saw the Miracle of the Fishing monument. We entered the center of Aparecida. And after almost 30km of walking, we arrived at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida, the 2nd largest church in the world!
