That's right! With so many avocado growing videos on the channel (this is the 10th) and at your request! Here comes the How to #Germinate a Seed! But my focus isn't so much on the technique or defining whether it's the best or not (beyond the title XD). It's clearly not our focus. It's rather defining a method or a sort of "protocol" so that next year we can transfer the tree to the ground without wasting time (which we don't have in this climate). This is of course if we start from the seed in the spring and transfer it to the ground the following spring. If we start in the fall, then there will be some winter care to prevent freezing, and we would transfer it in the second spring, or in a year and a half, which isn't bad at all! But as I said, you have to follow the instructions. Those of us who live in climates with very marked winters need to do things at a good pace and take advantage of all the energy we have in the coming months, with all of spring, summer, and fall ahead of us! I also know that many of you live in climates with two seasons. In that case, you already know it's much easier. You just have to worry about watering and applying the correct fertilizers in suitable soil, which is the same thing I share in the video. That doesn't change at all... So, as I said... more than saying it's the only way... it's more of a series of steps to follow to achieve our goals. Over the months, I'll be posting other videos of the progress of the process, and I'm sure I'll germinate more avocados in the coming weeks. I just need more seeds from local trees. And we wholeheartedly dedicate this video to all the people who write to us daily hoping to have their little tree in the ground, but who often don't succeed because of many completely avoidable mistakes... starting, for example, with poor seed selection or having only one tree... and there were quite a few trees that didn't survive this winter due to the cold or hasty transplants... so here's our contribution to encourage you to try again, but with much more certainty.
