How to Fix a HPS (High-Pressure Sodium) Backyard Patio Light.

The backyard light stopped lighting up at night and now the backyard is completely dark. Try changing the bulb--but it still doesn't work. What is next? Well, in this video a Master Electrician (licensed in multiple states) shows how to get that light fixed so that the backyard is no longer in the dark. The High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) Light is very efficient similar to LED lighting, and also has some advantages over LED lighting when used outdoors--the light emitted doesn't attract insects much if any which is good in the summer months especially if the light is near the house or even mounted on the house (such as the one in this video), also the HPS light bulb and fixture works well in all temperatures unlike the LED fixtures and bulbs that are made for use as a "residential light" that don't work well below 10 degrees Fahrenheit (unlike the higher-dollar LED bulbs and fixtures that are made for cold temperatures). The LED fixtures have their place and work really well indoors especially in warmer temperatures. The HPS light is still a very good light, and this video shows how to keep it working when it fails due to more than a burnt-out bulb. This video shows how to replace the HPS bulb, ballast, and igniter. ‪@Webideo‬
