Les Gorges de la Nesque au départ de Bédoin

We had often heard about the Nesque Gorges in the Vaucluse department, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, starting from Bédoin. We never imagined discovering such a magical environment. These gorges begin in Monieux, at an altitude of 625 meters, and end 20 kilometers further on in Méthamis. This route is breathtaking, punctuated by tunnels and viewpoints, overlooking a 300-meter precipice that accentuates the canyon's wild character. This stunning natural and historical site is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and part of the Natura 2000 European network. This 84-kilometer circuit presents no particular difficulties, with an elevation gain of 950 meters and gradients varying between 3% and 5% for the most challenging sections.
