Most of the ceremonies will take place inside the Goi Pantanali barracks, where 33 young conscripts died under the rubble of the earthquake on the evening of May 6, 48 years ago. || A handwritten list with some names crossed out. It is the symbolic sheet of paper of the tragedy that occurred in the Goi Pantanali barracks in Gemona on the evening of May 6, 1976. And written on it are some of the names of the young Alpine conscripts who remained under the rubble of the earthquake. These young men will also be remembered next Sunday during the 10th reunion of the Gemona Battalion. Alessandro Cenedese, councilor of the Conegliano Alpine section, tells us this story. He will be attending the Gemona rally on Sunday. The photos tell the story of those months before the earthquake. The dormitory, filled with old men and women, jokes and campfires, in a youth that quickly became adulthood when the earthquake razed everything to the ground. It was there that the Alpine troops showed their best youth. For this reason, every year Alessandro Cenedese goes on a pilgrimage to the Goi Pantanali, a sort of pilgrimage to what many consider one of the Alpine soldiers' sanctuaries.
