I am the co-owner of THPStrength, the best vertical jump coaching in the world. I personally have a 43" vertical off of one foot, and despite my age, stature, genetics, and injury history I have gotten my head just shy of hitting a 10' rim. There's many ups and downs in life (and training) but I have always made it a goal to work on my athleticism 2-3 days per week. I was never meant to be a pro-athlete, but I did want the best training possible to help me get there.
