DEALING WITH OPPOSITION - EZRA 4

How do you respond when you encounter opposition or setbacks? Do they discourage you from doing what God has called you to do? One of the realities of following God is that obedience often invites opposition. In Ezra 4, the returned exiles experienced this firsthand. After joyfully beginning the work of rebuilding the temple, they faced resistance from every direction. Their enemies employed compromise, discouragement, false accusations, and political pressure until the work eventually stopped for sixteen years. This chapter reminds us that opposition to God's work is not unusual; it is inevitable. Yet God's people must not allow setbacks, distractions, or delays to keep them from fulfilling His purposes. Though the enemies appeared to succeed for a season, God's sovereign plan ultimately prevailed. Key Lessons: 1. Expect Opposition to God’s Work 2. Exercise Discernment in God’s Work 3.
