The best ZF I’ve ever heard… NA-12-59 Horários Do Funchal Volvo B10R

He we see a very rare Volvo B10R on an enthusiast tour in Madeira. Unfortunately this bus hasn’t been used on services for years, so this was (and probably the only) opportunity to ride on this amazing machine! This was new to (main land) Portugal as a Manual Single decker, since then it’s grown a top deck and been fitted with a ZF box which is the loudest, most harmonic one I’ve ever heard. It’s also very different from other B10s on the island, which are geared very close together and don’t ever need kickdown to climb a hill but on this example, you can tell it’s a “standard” ZF box going through the gears at a normal pass. Madeira drivers are always very fast with constant pedal to the metal but put them in an open topper… you’re lucky to get 3rd gear. From about an hours worth of footage these 11 minutes are the best I got! Enjoy!
