Der Weg eines Hengstes am Landgestüt Celle - Youngster, S-Sieger und Ruhestandspferde

The stallions arrive at the Lower Saxony State Stud in Celle via various routes. While some are purchased as foals and then grow up in Hunnesrück, others are bought only after passing their stallion licensing. Afterward, their athletic development begins, with the goal of reaching the highest levels of competition. Show jumping and dressage horses alike are trained by experienced instructors and prepared for their sporting careers according to their age. Besides their use in breeding and competitions, the stallions naturally have a typical daily life. They relax on the stud's grounds in Adelheidsdorf, graze in the pasture, and follow a varied training program. Once the stallions retire, they remain in their familiar surroundings, continue to graze, breed—if they are able—and enjoy their retirement. They continue to be cared for, nurtured, and looked after. In addition to their use in breeding and competitions, the stallions naturally lead a normal equine life. This video offers a glimpse into the daily lives of our various stallions, showing how they are trained and challenged according to their age, how they take their first jumps with and without a rider, how the dressage stallions are trained, and how they enjoy their retirement.
