BERLIN TERRORIST ATTACK: Manhunt for Abdul B. Suspected Perpetrator Released from Juvenile Detention Police are searching for Abdul B. The 21-year-old is believed to be the Berlin attacker. Peter Hantjes reports on the information known so far. Abdul B. was released from a juvenile detention center two months ago. The reason for and duration of his sentence under juvenile law are unknown. Police know him as a member of the Islamist scene in Berlin. Officers searched his apartment in Schöneberg last night. He reportedly lived there with several siblings and his mother. The apartment is located just under a kilometer from the scene of the attack in the Tiergarten park. Neighbors claim that Abdul B. had boasted about alleged attack plans months ago. He also spoke of his dissatisfaction with his situation in Germany. Police did not find him at the apartment. His motive, the exact sequence of events, and his role in the attack remain unclear. Investigators are also examining whether Abdul B. acted alone or had accomplices. It remains unclear whether he drove the previously rented white van into the crowd himself. Police describe him as slim, about 1.90 meters tall, and with black hair.
