How Pride in the UK was born - BBC News
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK, and it all started in the basement of a London university. The Gay Liberation Front was making itself heard in protests across the capital throughout the early 70s when gay people were being arrested and same sex attraction was still considered to be a mental illness.
