Physical stamina is required. Many ups and downs and detours. Toilets are in inconvenient locations. [Points to note for Mt. Nokogiri ⇔ Mt. Konokogiri] Some routes are not considered standard hiking trails. There are dangerous sections. There are steep ups and downs. [My hiking data] *From YAMAP activity history TOTAL time: 6:53 Distance walked: 10 km Cumulative elevation gain (ascent): 836 m Cumulative elevation gain (descent): 840 m Summary This was my third time climbing Mt. Nokogiri in 5 and a half years, and my first time taking the route towards Mt. Konokogiri. In conclusion, this is not a route I would recommend for beginners or novices. While it is certainly a great route to enjoy in conjunction with Mt. Nokogiri, I think you can enjoy Chibando Canyon on its own, so I recommend taking the route from the other side. If you search for "Shimonukizawa Parking Lot," you will find various information, but points to note about that side include the road to the parking lot and the limited number of parking spaces. However, even taking that into account, I would still recommend that option for beginners and novices. (laughs)
