Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station, affectionately known as "Nishikita," boasts a convenient location within a few minutes of both Osaka Umeda Station and Kobe Sannomiya Station, and is a hotbed of real estate development. Thanks to the influx of commercial facilities and university campuses, the station continues to rank highly as one of the most desirable places to live in the Kansai region. The station is an at-ground station on the Kobe Line (four tracks, four island and side tracks), the Imazu Line (two tracks, three terminal tracks, three terminal tracks), and the Imazu Line (one track, one platform). Only the Imazu Line (towards Imazu) is elevated. All trains stop here, with the exception of semi-express trains during the morning rush hour and special express trains that merge onto the Kobe Line via the Imazu Line. A diamond cross monument, representing the former at-grade intersection of the Kobe Line and Imazu Line, has been erected north of Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens. The Kobe Line has introduced detailed announcements. A notable feature is the lack of recitation of approach melodies and destination information. When a train leaves the depot and heads off into the opposite direction, the usual approach announcements are made, and announcements for trains that stop at the station or are being sent out for out-of-service are accompanied by an announcement that "the next express/commuter express will arrive after this train," which is wording that differs from other stations. If the next train arrives first, no announcements such as "first come, first served" are made. The Imazu Line uses simplified announcements.
