Opening Day at Carpenters Home Church - God Be The Glory - FULL Service

In February 1985, the Carpenters Home Church opened. The congregation, led by Pastor Karl Strader, of the First Assemblies of God, had just completed the two year process of constructing the first 10,000 seat church facility in all of North America. The next largest church seated 6,000. The church was named, The Carpenters Home Church, because the property that was purchased was owned by the United Carpenters Union, and they had a life care facility on the property called the Carpenters home. That facility had been closed and abandoned for over ten years. The entire county knew that property as the Carpenters Home Property. So it just made sense to us to rename our church, the Carpenters Home Church. Opening day was historic and very memorable. The 200 voice choir, and 50 piece orchestra, were hidden behind the huge rain drop style curtain. As the worship team sang, "To God be the Glory", the giant curtain was raised. We discovered this video in a storage unit, sent it to a media archive company, and to our surprise, they were able to restore it and digitize it so you can experience that opening day service. We are so excited to share it with you. Please let us know how it blesses you. Share this Media Archive page with your friends and family.
