Diarista suspeita de assassinar casal de idosos em Belo Horizonte (MG) é presa e confessa crime

A cleaning lady suspected of murdering an elderly couple in Belo Horizonte (MG) was arrested and confessed to the crime. Paola Stephany Cirino, 30, was located in a hotel with her six-year-old son. In the room, police found stolen goods belonging to the victims and R$ 18,000 in cash. According to the investigation, it was the first time the cleaning lady had worked for the family. In her statement, she claimed that she dissolved tranquilizer pills in juice to drug Maria Atala, 76, and Claudio Atala, 75, before killing them. The suspect claimed to have suffered a psychotic episode. After the crime, Paola took a shower, changed clothes, discarded a blood-stained blouse and other items in a dumpster, and left the building by car. Police are investigating whether other people were involved and are trying to identify who bought jewelry, watches, and other items taken from the residence. After undergoing examinations at the Forensic Medical Institute, the suspect was transferred to a prison in Ribeirão das Neves, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.
