Tesla Spontaneously Catches Fire on California Freeway
It took over 6,000 gallons of water to extinguish the flames emitted from this Tesla Model S. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department sent three fire engines, a water tender, and a ladder truck to help a vehicle stranded on California’s Highway 50. The driver told authorities they noticed "heavy black smoke billowing from the undercarriage." It took over an hour to fully douse the fire, and thankfully, no injuries were reported.
