Assistenzhund: Kampf um Anerkennung | Warum sind psychische Krankheiten ein Tabu? #6

Update: Dear community, we must inform you that Tini has sadly passed away. Please refrain from discussing this matter out of respect for her and her family. Thank you 🧡 _______________________________________________________ #Dissociations can severely limit people: Paralysis and a complete loss of touch with reality – these can be symptoms that prevent people suffering from dissociation from leading a fully independent life. Assistance dogs help mentally ill people regain this independence and detect dissociations early on. Tini has, among other ailments, borderline personality disorder, dissociation, depression, and an eating disorder – and only dares to leave her front door thanks to and with her assistance, Amica. Whether it's a daily trip to the supermarket or an appointment at the office, Tini can rely on Amica to notice when her owner needs a break or when dissociations are developing. Tini needs an #assistancedog that is self-assured, self-assured, calm, and collected. Amica is perfect for this, as she is rarely overwhelmed by any (everyday) situation and can always report her level of tension back to Tini. Tini doesn't even notice when she's about to become overwhelmed or dissociated. Many shops and supermarkets don't allow dogs, which is why Tini often thinks about whether she needs to discuss things with employees before a situation arises. Tini wishes there was more understanding for her situation and her assistance dog—after all, Amica was trained for precisely these kinds of situations. Lisa-Sophie wants to find out how much the training costs, how Amica works, and whether a leisure visit to a bowling alley with an assistance dog is possible. To do this, she accompanies Tini for a day and learns all about the special bond between owner and dog. Find out whether she makes it through the day and can warn Amica Tini about dissociation in the episode: "Dissociation: My Assistance Dog Can Save Me." We don't meet experts for this, but rather we're there: at the slaughterhouse, at the swingers' party, while proselytizing in the pedestrian zone. And because we want to gain as many perspectives as possible in our search, a question always occupies us for several weeks. In the end, we want to provide an answer, even if it's not easy for us. With every video—but especially in the discussions with you—we get a little closer to answering the big, tricky questions.
