7 Layer Taco Trifle

  / @therecipetherapist   https://www.facebook.com/ Seven Layer Taco Trifle Dip A real crowd pleaser! This recipe is perfect for backyard barbecues or Cinco de Mayo. It’s not that hard to make and feeds a lot of people. Enjoy! Ingredients: 2 15 oz. cans of refried beans 8 oz. cream cheese (softened 20 to 40 seconds in the microwave) 1 tbsp. chili lime seasoning or taco seasoning 1 packet taco seasoning about 3 tablespoons 1 pound of ground beef sautéed with 1/2 small onion (drained) 2 cups sour cream 2 cups salsa drained or homemade salsa( save some for the top ) 1 tbsp. hot pepper jelly (optional ) 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese( save some for the top ) and 4 oz sliced black olives 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro 1 cup shredded lettuce 1 cup broken up Doritos chips 1 teaspoon lemon juice salt and garlic powder to taste 2 cups guacamole (I use one cup prepackaged and 1 cup fresh which is two avocados) Instructions: 1. In a small bowl stir together beans, cream cheese and packet of taco seasoning. Mix to combine (smooth and creamy) and set aside. 2. Mix fresh avocado with pinch of salt, garlic powder, lemon juice and one cup of prepackaged guacamole. Mix to combine and set aside. 3. Add 1 tbsp. pepper jelly to salsa (make sure it’s drained) set aside. 4. Sautéed ground beef with one 1/2 small chopped onion. Drain the juice and add the chili lime seasoning or taco seasoning. 5. Get trifle bowl ready and begin to layer with beans first. Spread around the whole bottom. 6. Next layer and spread sour cream, guacamole, ground beef, salsa and cheese. 7. To assemble the top start with the lettuce, then chips, and cheese, salsa or tomatoes, black olives and chopped cilantro. Serve immediately or within two hours of making it!
